Sicoob Central Crediminas in compliance with LGPD with Privacy Tools
The cooperative's pioneering initiative for compliance is highlighted in Brazil and serves as an example for this important segment throughout the country.
With the entry into force of the LGPD (General Personal Data Protection Law) in September 2020, all companies began to prioritize compliance projects to protect the privacy and data protection of customers, users, and consumers.
Sicoob Central Crediminas is a second-tier cooperative of the Sicoob System, responsible for coordinating and centralizing the operational processes and representation of its affiliated individual cooperatives, accounting for R$41 billion in assets and with 723 branches.
Compliance was being done manually
Concern for the privacy of members' and employees' data has always been part of the company's governance, systems planning, and process activities. However, the adaptation of processes and management of the LGPD compliance project was being done manually, without a support platform to speed up and provide greater security to the Minas Gerais cooperative. And it was at this point that Privacy Tools, a 100% national startup, came to support.

A customized project
Since 1988, Sicoob Central Crediminas has focused on centralizing finances, providing oversight and advice in the areas of credit, economics, information technology, accounting, communication and marketing, risk control and management, legal advice and professional training to serve its affiliated cooperatives.
Sicoob Central Crediminas, which together with its 73 affiliated individual cooperatives, a Deposit Guarantee Fund (Sicoob FGD) and an Insurance Administrator and Broker (Sicoob Minaseg) form the Sicoob Crediminas System, has approximately 1,500 users.
Furthermore, according to Maulais: “It is worth noting that, as it is a multi-company and multi-user platform, it made all the difference in choosing the platform, given the challenge of custom importing 16,000 processes, thus generating processing activities with the entire flow of personal data and automating the integration of 1,500 users to the platform through integration via API.”
Because it is a very large structure, it would not be possible to carry out data privacy management, where each Cooperative/Company could only have access to its processing activities and each platform user, considered in our scenario as the owners of the mapped processes, could only have access to their processes, adds Cláudio Maulais.
